First Moon Circles

A First Moon Circle is a beautiful way to support your daughter as she approaches her first period—also known as her ‘menarche.’

Whether she’s already started, hasn’t bled yet, or is simply curious because friends have—this gathering is a gentle, empowering space where she can learn, ask questions, and feel proud of this new chapter.

It’s not just education—it’s a celebration of growing up, shared with other girls in a way that’s supportive, special, and deeply memorable.

What a First Moon Circle Offers:

✔️ Positive holistic education around the menstrual cycle
✔️ Knowledge, support, tips and encouragement
✔️ A special Mother + Daughter experience
✔️ Practical self-care tools and ideas
✔️ An inclusive, safe and supportive space for all

There are Two Ways to Join a First Moon Circle

The same special experience—two ways to take part:

You can join a public circle in the community with other mums and daughters,
or host a private friendship circle for your daughter and a group of friends at a location of your choosing.

Who are First Moon Circles suitable for?

First Moon Circles are designed for girls aged 9–13 who are approaching or have recently started their first period.

They’re perfect for girls who:

  • Haven’t started their period yet but are curious or asking questions

  • Have just started and want to understand what’s happening in their body

  • Have friends who’ve started and want to feel prepared and confident

What happens at a First Moon Circle?

First Moon Circles are split into 2 parts

PART 1: Just the Girls: Periods, puberty and cycles

A fun, relaxed 2-hour session just for the girls—where they can connect, laugh, and learn about the physical, emotional, and spiritual changes that come with their first period (menarche).

What they’ll learn:

  • What periods and puberty are, and what changes to expect in their body and emotions

  • A simple intro to hormones, the reproductive system, and how our cycle has four phases

  • How to care for themselves throughout the month—especially during the premenstrual phase

  • Different period product options (and a chance to explore them hands-on!)

  • And space to ask any curious, awkward, or unspoken questions they’ve been holding onto

PART 2: Mums Join In: A Time to Connect, Create & Share

After the girls session, you, her Mother, Grandmother, or guardian are invited to join us for a short afternoon tea to celebrate this beautiful rite of passage and to pave the way for you and your daughter to speak freely, comfortably and openly at home over the months to come.

We’ll bead a bracelet to help the girls understand the concept of a monthly cycle, and to remind them of this day for years to come.

What this part is all about:

  • Creating a safe space to talk openly about puberty and periods

  • Strengthening the mother–daughter bond through shared connection

  • Sharing simple wisdom that helps girls feel supported and connected

  • Letting the girls reflect on what they’ve learned (you might learn something too!)

  • Gently honouring this stage as a natural and powerful part of growing up

Each participant will receive:

  • A take-home gift bag featuring her own ‘moon kit’ (a combination of sanitary samples, and beautiful self-care items to remind her of this special day).

  • A 22-page keepsake guidebook created by Charlotte Pointeaux (founder of First Moon Circles, Menstrual Cycle Coach) full of wisdom and knowledge she’ll need to see her through puberty.

  • Plus her own handmade beaded bracelet to remind her of the magic of her cycle and self-care.

Imagine being celebrated, honoured and truly valued at this stage of your life

    - Parent

  • “I learnt about what’s going to happen and not to be scared about it. Before I did the circle I was really nervous about getting my period, now i’m not. It’s something I think would be good for more girls to do.”

    -Kiera 12

  • “My 11 year old daughter participated in Stacey’s First Moon Circle and loved it! She got so much out of it and is still talking about what she learnt and how amazing her body is.

I wish this kind of thing was around when I was young. It’s given my daughter the knowledge and confidence to tackle this tricky time in her life and has helped her embrace and love her incredible body and not to be embarrassed about what is to come.

Highly recommend the circle to anyone with young girls. Stacey makes the girls feel comfortable and safe and explains everything in ways they understand.”

    -Sarah (parent)

  • “Now I understand more about what my body is doing and why. Stacey explained it really well in our language (kids talk) and didn’t make it complicated.

The booklets were great when she pointed out what she was talking about in detail and we got to keep them to look back on.”

Meet Stacey Eifermann the facilitator

Hi, I’m Stacey—mum of three, teacher, and a certified First Moon Circle® facilitator through @firstmooncircles.

I was drawn to this work because I know how powerful it is when girls feel connected to their bodies, proud of who they are, and supported by the women around them.

With a background in education and a passion for helping mums and daughters build strong, open relationships, I hold these circles with warmth, care, and a down-to-earth vibe.

There’s something really special about creating this experience together—it’s just as meaningful for mums as it is for their girls.
