Meet Stacey

Welcome!

Hi I’m Stacey

Like many women today, I wear many hats! I'm a mum of three, a school teacher, certified Youth Mentor and I lead First Moon Circles (Period education and celebration).

I live in Melbourne with my husband and kids. As a family, we love to travel and are regularly on the road travelling to festivals, camping, and enjoying the outdoors.

I love helping young people, which has taken me around the world. I've mentored girls at a summer camp in the U.S., worked as an au pair in the U.K., and taught in schools in Cambodia and East Timor while earning my degree in education.

These different experiences showed me how important education and community are. No matter their background, the happiest children felt they belonged and were connected to their community and culture.

“I love teaching girls and their mums about the magic of the menstrual cycle. I believe understanding and accepting this natural part of life can be an exciting experience that gives girls knowledge, confidence, pride, and self-love—elements that will benefit them for a lifetime.”

In my mid-thirties, I took a leap of faith and attended my very first women's circle, and in that moment, I thought to myself, "Why haven’t I done this before, how did I not know about this type of thing?" It was an eye-opening experience that ignited something deep within me and ultimately led me to create Red Sisters. I always knew that self-care was important, but I didn’t fully realise just how much it was enriched by connecting with other women in the beautiful experience of sisterhood circles.

Another thing that truly motivated and inspired me to create Red Sisters was the disappointing observation of what girls were being taught in schools about their menstrual cycles. Unfortunately, it became evident that this important subject was covered very minimally, and in an environment rife with embarrassment, especially with boys present. This lack of proper education not only hinders their understanding but also perpetuates feelings of shame and discomfort surrounding a natural process.

I wanted to change this for my daughter and all the other girls out there, I wanted to create safe, beautiful spaces for girls and their mothers to learn about their bodies and how to take care of themselves through their cycles. A place where they feel celebrated during this special time in their lives.

I truly believe when girls take the time to connect deeply with themselves, the beauty of nature, and the empowering spirit of sisterhood, they cultivate a profound sense of confidence and compassion within themselves. These qualities are not just beneficial but essential in today's ever-changing and fast-paced world, helping them navigate challenges with grace and kindness.

I love teaching girls and their mums about the magic of the menstrual cycle. I believe understanding and accepting this natural part of life can be an exciting experience that gives girls knowledge, confidence, pride, and self-love—elements that will benefit them for a lifetime!

Stacey xx
